Issue number 9 of the excellent Kokeshi Jidai こけし時代 magazine just came out, and I am sure that enthusiasts living outside of Japan would like to see a preview. The issue is dedicated to Yamagata Kokeshis 山形系こけし, as well as onsens 温泉 (hot baths) in Yamagata and a hodgepodge of kokeshi tales and nostalgia. As always it's a great issue chock full of information about kokeshis and hot baths, lots of terrific photography, and the usual innovative graphics and page design. I hope that everyone abroad who is interested can get a hold of a copy for themselves.
